Hobbies, activities, or interests:
I was a whitewater canoe instructor. I have hiked all of the high peaks in New England and New York. I facilitated outdoor adventure activities including low and high ropes and cooperative games for groups of up to 200 individuals. I love cooking, coaching youth sports, and being the best grandfather in the world to my granddaughter Demi Lynn!
Interesting story or fact about me:
In my early 20’s I worked as a wilderness therapeutic counselor. I organized 24 extended trips backpacking and canoeing throughout New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. I also participated in a snowball fight on the Great Wall in Beijing, China.
Professional summary:
I have spent over 37 years in the public, municipal, and non-profit sectors in numerous leadership positions. I have extensive experience working with collective bargaining units, school and municipal elected officials, non-profit boards of directors, municipal and school administrators, public schools, private schools, and non-profit organizations. I have held numerous positions including Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Special Education, President of State Association, Non-Profit Board Member for over 20 years, and Educational Consultant. I have extensive knowledge in Board Governance through Policy Development, Strategic Planning, Developing High Performing Teams, and Grant Writing.
My school district experienced a ransomware attack in 2019. Envision Technology Advisors partnered with us to assess the initial damage and get us back up and running. Like most organizations in the public sector, we did not have the internal resources to improve our systems and prevent future cyber events. Envision did not sell us a product or a service but established a partnership with our organization and staff. Fast forward five years, I am excited to work with Envision to help leaders take the steps necessary, including identifying outside funding sources, to ensure the safety of identities, systems, and personal information.
