Jay Longley
Senior Technical Account Consultant
I have been at Envision since:
2018
Hobbies, activities, or interests:
I have quite a few...I have played in hardcore bands, chased hurricanes, and surfed all over the States, Central America, and Hawaii. I've broken my back on a motorcycle, been in mud runs in a few countries, and made it into the Trifecta Tribe. I have ridden the IBA 1000, and traveled to far-off lands where electricity is a luxury. Recently I have been working on my private pilot license.
Interesting story or fact about me:
I won the NRCC award for "Businessman of the Year from the State of Rhode Island" and had an invitation to meet the President of the United States. Unfortunately, I had to decline the invitation because my son had an important graduation that day. It was a tremendous opportunity but family comes first.
Professional summary:
I have been working in the technology industry for 26 years. I began my career building networks. Since then I have held various positions including CEO, Principal, Managing Partner, and Manager for several organizations. I currently head Envision's Public Sector Division, with a focus on schools and local governments across the United States. That includes architecting and building comprehensive security solutions based on NIST and Zero Trust frameworks.
I sit on the CTE Advisory Board for RIDE and the Technology Committee for Meals on Wheels of RI.
In 1999, I received my first technical certification. In 2001 I became a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Windows NT 4.0. I was one of the first people certified as an MCSA, which means I am a Charter Member. I am always studying, learning, and implementing new things...always!
