I never did well with my studies and grades in high school. As an adult, I truly love researching and learning everything I can about cybersecurity. I find it fascinating and at the same time, frightening. Also, I am self-taught and passionate when it comes to expanding my knowledge on evolving technology and its impact on businesses.
I relish the time I spend with my family, new grandson and chats with my daughter who lives in Australia. She is my “go-to person” and we have a loving, close relationship.
Interesting story or fact about me:
I always wanted to please my parents when I was younger, so I followed their strict rules and typically stayed out of trouble. When I was about sixteen, I was dating this boy who was the opposite of me and a rebel! He persuaded me to skip school which is something I had never done. As I ventured with him downtown, I secretly was a nervous wreck. Disobeying my parents was a rarity for me. However, at the same time I felt like one of the “cool kids.”
As we carelessly wandered around town right in the open, we decided to cross the street to go to the convenience store. While we were crossing the street, whose car do we walk in front of? My mother’s car, which was a grey pacer (looked like a upside down bathtub)! I literally had just gotten my license and it was immediately taken away. The excitement of me cruising around town in my new $500 yellow Maverick quickly crumbled.
My professional background is very diversified and interesting. I was a Stockbroker back in the late 90’s and after the devastation of 9/11, the market obviously took a major hit. Therefore, I was forced to choose another career path. I started working for a small CLEC and my career as a Sales Professional in Information Technology began to thrive.
I act as a Consultant and intently listen to my clients' concerns, needs, visions, and goals - “peeling back the onion” so to speak. Understanding a customer’s needs and wants is mission critical. Thereafter, I take the information I have gathered and create a cost benefit solution to best fit their needs, not mine.
With more than two decades of Information Technology experience and knowledge, I continue to build and maintain strong business relationships while offering superior customer service before, during, and after the sale. My niche is working with multi-location and enterprise accounts alongside small-medium sized businesses.
